Recently, my old Desk on which I had my whole PC Setup started to have it’s Drawer Stuck and it was like 7 years old.
So I decided to buy a new Workstation Desk and I found many on Amazon India.
Since I wanted something Minimalist and Elegant, I started looking for Ikea’s Desks as they are one of the best furniture brands out there.
Surprisingly, there are many Ikea Products available officially in India which is a good thing.
So, I came across this product called “Ikea Micke Workstation Computer Desk” and as soon as I saw it, I was sure of buying it
It’s long in length, is white colour (was my preference) and has great reviews.
So I bought it for like 11K Rupees on 2nd December 2019.
How long did it take to arrive?
I live in Jharkhand and it was shipped from Bangalore, it took around 5 days to arrive (on 7th December)
And I’m still surprised how they managed to ship it that fast.
It arrived in a minivan and since my room is on the 2nd floor, I had to carry it up to there and trust me, that was really heavy (26 KG)
I unboxed it and started to keep similar parts in one place.
It came with all the required accessories (like the screws)
My older brother is an architect so I asked him for some help in assembling this desk (he did 95% of everything Lol)
And almost after 1 hour, it was finished and ready.
Now before ordering this, I had this question in mind that will it be hard to assemble or will we need professional tools
To which the answer is no, you can literally do it all alone and all you will need is a screwdriver set like this one and some patience.
So, the first bad thing that I found about this Desk is that it’s Shaky.
It’s not THAT shaky but still, it isn’t much sturdy as my previous desk.
The Material used in this Desk is Particle Board which isn’t as strong as Wood and that’s why I place my heavy cabinet under it.
The left side has a metal piece on the bottom which I think makes the Table look more elegant.
The material on the desk feels really premium, the white colour is the perfect white.
I’d still recommend a Desk Mat for the Monitor, Mouse and Keyboard.
Things I like about this Desk
The Wire Management Tunnel: There’s actually a Wire Management area in the backside of the desk that can store all the wires and even a long extension board.
The Drawers: Fact that this Desk has two drawers makes it perfect, you can keep your notebooks, and many small things in there.
The Colour: This special white colour is just awesome, it blends with my room and other PC Components.
The Material: Particle Board may not be as stiff as regular wood but it sure has perfect edges and it looks more finished.
Easy to Assemble: You can do it yourself if you want to.
Things I don’t like about this Desk
- It’s shaky: This isn’t a big thing but this thing shakes.
- Expensive: 11K Rupees isn’t much compared to other desks but this thing costs 7K if you buy it locally from Ikea in Bangalore.
If you want a simple desk that can store some of the extra notebooks and look minimalistic then this desk if for you
You can buy it off Amazon India here.
